LOS ANGELES, 2003 - Joining the ranks of popular down-under pop stars like Crowded House, Savage Garden, The Bee Gees, Air Supply, INXS, Men at Work and Olivia Newton John, musical sensation Mykeljon today debuted "Sacrifice," his second album ready to be released in the United States. According to World-renown pianist and record producer for Los Angeles- based Embassy Entertainment, Rickey Grundie, "The genius of Mykeljon and his music is that it crosses over several genres from rhythm & blues to smooth jazz to rock to world beat. With Mykeljon there isn't that intimidation factor of trying to be or sound like someone else. He brings a true freshness and uniqueness to the industry, something that very few artists are able to successfully deliver." Mykeljon arrived as an unknown with an "indie" deal for his debut U.S. release, "It all Takes Time." Within eight weeks of its release more than 120 stations play-listed Mykeljon onto light rotation (Feb. 2000). With a new team, Mykeljon's new album is primed to reach new heights. Multi-award-winning artist Mykeljon's new album,
"Sacrifice," was recorded in Los Angeles at David Benoit's 29th St studios.
The line up of musicians that are featured on this project is nothing
short of an "all-star cast,", with featured musicians including: All musicians on the album agree that Mykeljon's talents are world class. "When it comes to substance Mykeljon excels," comments Grundie, "He is a natural when it comes to his craft as a songwriter, lyricist and performer." In 1999, Mykeljon's track "Rock to be Free" was chosen as the theme song for the global concert peace event "Rockin' for Freedom," which was designed to promote non-violent resolution of conflicts and raise funds to benefit children, refugee relief and humanitarian aid worldwide. Mykeljon's new Album "Sacrifice" takes the listener on a passionate journey from love to social comment to feel- good topics, all set to a variety of grooves and moods. Grundie sums it all up "No matter how radio tries to categorize him, Mykeljon is heart felt soul". For more information
